rear extension
under £50 000
12 week contract period

This project addresses an archetypical problem – how to utilise the space at the rear of a modest London terrace. The architectural solution is conceived as belonging to the garden rather than the house. This is expressed in the choice of materials (lightweight timber) and the facility to unite external with internal space. The approach seeks to both maintain the identity of the original house and diminish the sense of encroachment into the small garden.
