The focus of this project is a piece of architectural furniture. The piece encompasses the client’s storage requirements and a new kitchen. The client wished to emphasize the purpose made and personal nature of the piece. To achieve this the variable physical nature of each specific storage compartment (model making trolley, CDs, electric piano, writing bureau, magazines, kitchen appliances, sculpture niche etc.) was expressed and carefully composed into an irregular but balanced composition across the surface of the whole. Pinboards on the inner face of many compartment doors accommodate the client’s penchant for montaging information of interest.
